FC Motorsports Clinches Thrilling 2nd Place at NJMP!

New Jersey, August 3, 2024 – In a dramatic display of resilience and teamwork, FC Motorsports conquered the blistering heat and mechanical setbacks to secure an impressive second place finish at the New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP). This achievement highlights the team’s tenacity and dedication, making their comeback story one for the books.

Under the sweltering sun, with temperatures soaring into the mid-90s and humidity levels at a staggering 80%, the drivers faced not only fierce competition from over 80 other drivers but also the relentless challenge of staying hydrated and focused.

The day started with a setback as driver Ben Braley discovered a critical issue during qualifying: the kart refused to turn left. The diagnosis? A bent chassis, necessitating an immediate switch to a backup kart and a rear start in qualifying. Despite this, the team remained undeterred.

Alexey Dronov, returning from a racing hiatus, showcased his unwavering skill by propelling the team back into contention, clawing his way up to the mid-pack as if he’d never missed a race. “It was so hot out there, but I had to keep my head down and stay focused,” said Alexey, demonstrating the grit and determination that defines FC Motorsports.

The race took another dramatic turn when Brenna Schubert, during her second stint, faced a mechanical failure as a spindle snapped, causing a tire to come off. Despite the setback and losing 11 laps, Brenna’s persistence paid off as she managed to regain three laps, showcasing the team’s unyielding spirit.

Veteran driver Michael Grathwohl took the wheel next, exhibiting extraordinary skill and endurance by reducing the deficit from eight laps to just four. His remarkable performance underscored the team’s capability to battle through adversity.

In the final stint, Ben Braley returned to the track with a clear mission. Pushing the kart to its limits, he skillfully navigated the course, shaving off precious seconds each lap. His relentless drive culminated in a nail-biting finish, crossing the line just 10 seconds behind the leader.

FC Motorsports’ journey from an 11-lap deficit to a triumphant second-place finish is a testament to the strength of their team and the support of their exceptional mechanic. The entire team couldn’t be prouder of their incredible comeback.

Special thanks go to Nix Biosensors for their advanced hydration and electrolyte monitoring devices. These vital tools ensured the drivers of FC Motorsports stayed at peak performance, effectively managing dehydration and electrolyte levels throughout the grueling race.
